The Republican avalanche began at the Cnuadlan border, from Maine to Washington, Wash-ington, and swept tho country clean clear to Mason and Dlxon'a line and broke tho Solid 8outh. Tho Republican avalanche swept Tennessee, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arizona. In Kentucky Richard J. Krnst, Republican, Is elected to tho senate over J. O. W. Beckham. For tho first time In history several counties coun-ties In Alabama went Republican, and several precincts In the sixth Mississippi Missis-sippi district did the same almost unbelievable un-believable thing. Harding carried St. Petersburg, Orlando, Dnytona and other oth-er towns In Florida; nine counties In northern Georgia and a dozen parishes In the sugar belt of Louisiana. The G. O. P. picked up a congressman In Texas; Harry M. Wurzback defeated Carlos Bee, brothcr-ln-law of Postmaster Postmas-ter General Burleson. President-elect Harding, whatever elsa he does, Is going to take a rest He's already off on a real vacation of a month. His Immediate destination Is Point Isabel, Tex., via San Antonio and Brownsvlllo. Point Isabel Is on the Gulf, 20 miles from Brownsville and six miles from tho Mexican line.
