UTAH J Monday, May 17, 1976, could very well be the most important day for citizens in this decade. On that date, voting district mass meetings will be held and, if tradillonrepeats' itself, a very small turnout of the Utah electorate will decide who the delegates to county and state political conventions will be. What is at stake? The governors seat, all the Utah House of Representatives, and one-haof the Utah Senate for starters. The delegates will determine who party candidates will be. Also up for election are all of the other major state offices (with no incumbents seeking reelection), one U.S. Senator, both U.S. congressional seats, and half of the positions on lf Demos Set Mass Meetings Next Monday Democrats will meet at the following places: 1. It seems obvious. Will you please set aside Monday evening, May 17, at 8 . to attend the mass meeting of your choice. If you want to become a delegate or a party worker, ask your neighbors and friends to support you. Also ask any educators in your voting district to help you. If you don't wish to run for a delegate position yourself, at least attend and give your support to others who may be seeking the positions. If you do not know your voting district number, you can inquire by telephone to the elections department of your county clerk's office. Remember! At no other level of political participation can you have as great an impact as vou can at your mass meeting. " am certain beyond a shadowof doubt will be classified as a square and a I product of the "Old Fashioned Generation," but I feel I must express publicly the indignation and humiliation my husband and I felt after seeing the film, "All The President's Men." We are still "old fashioned enough to believe in The Ten Commandments - expressly number three which states, "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain." Why must we hear His name derogatorily used throughout this picture? Not only His name but obscene, vulgar names that frequent the walls and doors of many public restrooms. Without the profanity, and obscene words, this film could have been recommended to anyone. May we always have the courage to express our indignation over the use of this type of language. In contrast may I relate the details of an evening which made us proud to be parents, proud of our school, and proud to be an American. We attended an evening of music furnished by the Fifth and Sixth Grade children from the Sego Lily Elementary School in Lehi. This was a combined chorus of approximately 75 boys and girls. Every child sang with such enthusiasm that chills ran up and down my DELIVERY 2-4 9 Lewis, bead custodian; and Steve Carlson, custodian, supervised the students In their work.
