Show Municipal Elections. ; Tho manner of conducting tnnnicipal elections seems but little undcistood though less than n month hence. It occurs oc-curs on tho Tuesday next following the first Monday in November, the same ais all other elections, and- is under the , j . ; ' supervision and and must be paid for by t tho respective city councils and town ly boards where the election is hold. The registry agents are appointed by tho board of county commissioners, but aro paid for by tho city or townin which I services are rendered at not to exceed $3 i ' per day. There aro only two dayB of registration, the first and third Tuesdays prior to an election, between-8 o'clock a in. and 9 o'clock p. m., at some designated des-ignated office. Notices for this regstration should now be prsted. Tho judges of election for each voting precinct in a town or city are appointed by the city council or town board of said I city or town, at least two of whom shall i be of opposito political parties, i. e, - there can not bo more than two of one : party. The judges ate also paid by the city at not to exceed $3 per day. The ' judges have to keep open the polls from I ' 7 o'alock in the morning until 7 o'clock I in tho evening . Tho recorders or town ! clerks must furnish tho ballots and E necessary stationary. J Any paj ty which at the lust election .cast two per cent or more of the total - vote of tho city or town is entitled to have its candidate on the official ticket, by properly filing the same with tho city recorder or town clerk ; but where a now party is siarted or where a new ticket is put up outside of tho regular parties, such as the non-partisan move- I ment for example, then at least fifty i citizens of the city or town must sign tho certificate of nomination . The said certificate must contain tho names ol alj those nominated for office, and the signers must take upon themselves a politicat name in not more than five words. Tho signers have to give their name and residence, and take an oath before any officer duly authorized to take I acknowledgements, that they aro voters I ; within said city or town. J I r As before stated, where it is ajrgular (f'1 party organization, certificates can be i1 made out only by the sigimtuics of ths chairman and secietary of the nominating nominat-ing meeting or convention, but those officers of the meeting must ni&ko oath. before an officer qualified to administer tho same, that the affiants were such 'officers of said meeting or convention, giving the namo of it and tho date when held. Now the time of filing thuso certificates i. .of nomtnation is impor.ant. They must bo filed with tho city recorder or town clerk, not less than fifteen days before election, which- would bo the 17th inst. Nor is that all.
