SYRACUSE 18 year old daughter of Thomas and Daisy Anaya Holt, 1206 West 1350 South, was crowned Miss Deaf Utah Saturday night in ceremonies at Woods Cross High School. Nanette is a 1983 graduate of Utah School for the Deaf where she excelled in athletics, received the Outstanding Student award, and served as Student Council President. The workshop was filmed and will be seen in this area at a later date. Preparing for her move, to Washington, D.C. where she will attend Gallaudet College, she plans to make a career in teaching the deaf. Nanette performed a mime act for the talent presentation. Awards included an academic from scholarship, local merchants, and two trophies.
