Front rowt Chris Stevenson, historian, son of Mr. - LAYTON Shane C Fricks, a senior at Layton High School, has been named recipient of an International Thes- pian Society (ITS) scholarship. The award, one of 30 offered by the society, consists of $500 to be used in pursuit of a theater arts degree. The annual contest is open to all graduating senior members of ITS. The International Thespian Society is active in all 50 states and 17 foreign countries. ' Judging for the scholarship is handled by the ITS Board of Trustees and selected regional representatives. Applicants are judged on scholastic achievement, experience in dramatic capacities, aspirations and goals, as well as a theater project of their own choice. Is Debora Rae Smith ROY has known since junior high School that she wanted to be an elementary school teacher. The - same singlemindedness that has shaped her educational career for the past 10 years has won her the recognition of valedictorian for the College of Education at Utah State University. Smith, daughter of Ted and Juanita Smith, 5027 S. 2200 W., Roy, will represent her college as the years top scholar at commencement ceremonies June 4 on the Utah State campus.
