Proctor said his man had cleared the area south of the runway near the crash scene prior to the accident and one of his troopers reported that when the plane went down there was no traffic on Highway 193. According to witnesses, the plane appeared to have lost power and had dropped into the field, hitting a piece of farm equipment and then flipping. Two Worses in the field were killed in the crash.
