James R. Breitweiser, Ogden Representative for the Independent Insurance Agency of Utah presented the fire department with the first place plaque at the special city council meeting Sept. 29. Also present for the presentation was Bill DEvelyn, executive director of the Independent Insurance Agency of Utah and Utah State Fire Marshal Steve Kennedy. Fire departments from all over the state entered the competition by submitting applications for their own departments with data on training programs, drills, fire response time, fire loss, school programs and information on what the fire department did during fire prevention week. There will be no parking allowed along the north side of the street because of the dangers involved to children and the poor visibility in the area.
