Show I Lakeside Review, Wednesday, June 17, 1987 ; Jack Reese VIEW-Jac- k PLEASANT Ewing Reese, 53, of 3765 N. 800 W., died June 10, 1987, at the Wednesday, McKay-De-e Hospital of lupus. He was born Oct. 31, 1933, in Amal-gUtah, a son of George W. "Dutch and Lois Ewing Reese. He married Janette Balls on Sept. 29, 1955, in the Logan LDS Temple. He was a member of the Pleasant View LDS 5th Ward. He had been active in sports and had served as athletic director in the Pleasant View Utah Stake. He had coached church softball, basketball and volleyball teams. He had served as a Sunday School supera, intendent, home teacher and was a member of the High Priest Quorum. He had coached bantam basketball and one of his teams won State Championship in 1965. He had coached various Little League ball teams. He was charter president of the Clearfield Jaycees. He attended Cache County schools and graduated from North Cache High School. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Utah State University and a Masters Degree from Brigham Young University. He had worked in construction and was a teacher at Kaysville Junior High School. Surviving are his widow of Pleasant View; two sons and two daughters, Lance Jack Reese, Kaysville; Kirk B. Reese, Pleasant View; Mrs. Craig (Diana) Wilson, Layton; Mrs. Stephen (Margo) Grange, Farr West; 10 grandchildren. Also surviving are his parents of Amalga; one brother and two sisters, Charles E. Reese, Moraga, Calif.; Mrs. Vance (Shirley) Petersen, Newton; Mrs. Keith (Janet) Clapier, Pleasant View. Services were held Saturday, June 13, 1987 at the Pleasant View 5th Ward Chapel, 3602 N. 500 W., with Bishop Robert L. Burton officiating. Interment in the North Ogden Arrangements by Myers Mortuary in Ogden. Those wishing may make contributions to the Northern Utah Lupus Foundation. Mary V. Gonzales LAYTON-Mary Carolina Vigil Gonzales, 69, of 797 E. 2625 N., died Friday, June 12, 1987 at the Humana Hospital Davis North of causes incident to age. She was born March 3, 1918 in Trinidad, Colo., a daughter of Julian and Sipia Chavez Vigil. She married Chon Encarnacion Gonzales April 25, 1942 in Trinidad, Colo. She was reared and educated in Colorado. She had lived in Rock Springs, Wyo. for 15 years and in the Layton area for the past 35 years. She was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, in Layton. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and music. Surviving are her husband of Lay-tofour sons and five daughters, R. Gilbert Gonzales, Mrs. Fred (Dora) Martinez, both of Layton; Robert Gonzales, Kaysville; Julian Gonzales, Ernie Gonzales, Mrs. Leo (Ida) Martinez, all of Roy; Mrs. Toby (Viola) Gabaldon, Hooper; Mrs. Vincent (Virginia) Olague, Smithfield; Mrs. Arthur (Esther) Morfin, West Valley City; 38 grandchildren and 15 . Also surviving are her mother of Trinidad, Colo,; three brothers and three sisters, Julian Vigil, Rock Springs, Wyo.; Nash Vigil, Fred Vigil, Bernice Ortega, all of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Sandy Marie Armijo, Margaret Vigil, both of Trinidad, Colo. She was preceded in death by one son, one brother and two sisters. Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated Tuesday at 9 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 85 Church St., Layton with Father Charles Brun-ic- k, C.S.P. officiating. Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery. n, Jerry Hodgman KAYSVILLE-Charle- Grant Jerry s Hodgman, 59, of 219 W. 250 S., died Thursday, June 11, 1987 at the Humana Hospital Davis North in Layton of a cardiac arrest. He was born Nov. 24, 1927 in Og- den, a son of Bruce and Selina Clark Hodgman. He married Noreene Woodland Oct. 3, 1949 in Willard, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in LDS Temple. the Ogden He was reared and educated in Ogden, Utah and El Segundo, Calif. He was a member of the Kaysville 7th LDS Ward where he served as a elder. He was a planner and schedular in maintainance at Hill Air Force Base until his retirement in April of 1986. Surviving are his widow of Kaysville, two daughters and one son, Mrs. Joe (Gail) Morrison, West Point; Mrs. Kerry (Vicki) Miya, Clearfield; Roger C. Hodgman, Findlay, Ohio; five grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters and two brothers, Adelaide Staley, Ogden; Berniece Bagby, El Segundo, Calif.; Wesley Hodgman, Escondido, Calif.; Kenneth Hodgman, Baker, Ore. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Services were held Monday at 1 1 a.m. at Lindquists Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main with Bishop Melvin Peel of the Kaysville 7th Ward officiating. Interment, Willard Cemetery. Judy Marie Olauson SUNSET-Jud- y Marie Olauson, 38, of 1070 N. 450 W., Sunset, died Sunday, May 31, 1987, at her home of cancer. She was born April 9, 1949, in Salt Lake City, a daughter of Melvin and Jane Peasnoll Anderson. She was a member of the Sunset LDS 6th Ward, serving in the Primary, MIA, and the ward library. She attended Grantsville schools. Surviving are her husband, Marvin Olauson, Sunset, one son and three daughters, Lesley, Clearfield; Jana, Gall, and Amy, all of Sunset; and one granddaughter. Also surviving are her parents of Grantsville; her grandparents, Oliver and Olive Peasnoll, Tooele; Esther Mayberry, Salt Lake City; four brothers, Craig, Richard, Brent, all of Berneice W. She was reared in Missouri and had lived in Florida and Idaho. She had lived in Layton for the past 32 years. She graduated from high school in Missouri and was a member of the Protestant Church. She was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Clearfield and had served as president. Surviving are one son and one Laura S. Fox BOUNTIFUL-Laur- a Sanders Fox, 78, of 1376 E. Barton Creek Lane, died Sunday, June 14, 1987, in Bountiful of cancer. She was born Jan. 15, 1909 in East Garland, Utah, a daughter of Ellis Mendenhall and Mary Lucina Snow Sand- ers. She married Orland James Fox Oct. 16, 1929 in Ogden. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Nov. 29, 1982. grandchildren and one Also surviving is one sister, Peggy Jacobsen, Azusa, Calif. She graduated from Stevens College in Ogden. She was a member of the Clearfield 3rd LDS Ward where she served on the stake Sunday School board. Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Jay I. Barlow, Clearfield; Stanton W. Barlow, Sunset; Mrs. Gary (Judy) Jordan, Visalia, Calif.; Frankie J. Barlow, Provo; seven grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and three sisters, twin brother, Bernell Watkins, Alpine; Paul Watkins, Reno, Nev.; Elfrieda Evon, Salt Lake City; Elza Murdock and Ruth Nash, both of American Fork.
