Seventh, eighth and ninth grade students from throughout the area are being encouraged to submit their working models or illustrations of any alternate con(energy source or one using ventional energy sources but with improvements to make it more effective. Teressa Crandall, Home Energy Advisor for Utah Power and Light, said there will be six areas in the state competing with Davis County judging being in the Layton Hills Mall on March 8. In each of the six districts of the state there will be a first, second, and third place winner. First place awards will be $100; second place, $75; and third place will receive $50. Winners will also receive a trophy, ribbon, and a certificate. Entry forms are available through most of the junior high science teachers or from Utah Power and Light. The display of entries will be on display at the mall from March 8 through March 12 for .public viewing. Winners will be announced during an award ceremony at the Union Building on the Weber State College campus at 7 p.m. on March 10. Following are the rules for the contest: ' 1)- . A contestant is eligible to enter the contest if heshe is a seventh, eighth or ninth grade student., .
