Often at public hearings on rezoning requests, local residents question the developers and voice opposition, but in instance neighbors asked the city to approve the zoning and urged their approval of the project. Hal Hallett, a property owner near the site, told the council that local residents had met with Kerry Marmus, of Empire West Corp., the developers, and that they felt very confident that he is respectable and the development would be beneficial to our area and to Layton. The project will contain 430 apartments designed to house two people, a swimming pool, jogging track, a spa, laundry facilities with a lounge area, gazer line. ull ' Compete tor Miss Roy Title ROY Ten young women from the Roy area will compete for the title of Miss Roy this Saturday in a pageant at Roy High School beginning at 7:30 p.m. The winner will reign at Roy Days events through Aug. 20 and will compete for the title of Miss Utah.
