Hoopes and Charles Robert Peterson, Bountiful, received his MD degree from the U. of U. recently. He is married to Pauline Butler of Monticello, Ut. and they have three children. He earned a BS in microbiology from BYU in 1977 and is a graduate of View-moHigh. HE IS a resident in a family practice program at the University of Utah Medical Center-Holy Cross Hospital in Salt nt Lake City. He eventually plans to practice in the Utah County area of Utah. Exercise Marine Lance Cpl. Elwyn G. Burt, son of Kenneth F. and Mary L. Burt of Collins Court, Layton, recently participated in exercise Solid Shield 81. He is a member of the 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines, based at Camp Lejeune, N.C. SOLID SHIELD 81 was the 19th in a series of annual land and sea exercises de- signed to emphasize command and control of military forces in a simulated combat Involving more than 27,000 Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps personnel, the exercise was conducted at Camp Lejeune, N.C., Fort Bragg, N.C., and Shaw AFB, S.C. exercise THE THREE-wee- k simulated military action between opposing land, sea and air forces and included an airborne assault, naval mine warfare, harbor control, runway repair and tactical air support operations.
