Show Edna Hatch, active Church workerdies; services held I ""M" SARAH EDNA HATCH Sarah Edna Stohl Hatch was born in. Brigham City, Utah Feb. 19, 1894 to Oleen N. Stohl and Sarah Peters Stohl. She is survived by her husband Amos C. Hatch, sons Chester and David, Salt Lake City. Oleen N. of Monticello, and Joseph Clark of Parowan. Daughters Mrs. Howard Knight (Margaret) of Moab, Mrs. Leon Robinson (Louise) of Parowan, Mrs. Gordon Whitney (Hazel), of Salt Lake City.Mrs. Chesley Davies (Mary) of Las Vegas, Nev. and Mrs. Thomas Lake (Helen) of St. Lewis, Mo. She is survived by brothers and sisters Hazel Stohl Jensen, Anna Lavra (Mrs. John Q.) Cannon, Lloyd O. Stohl and Clark N. Stohl, all of Salt Lake City. Also surviving are 43 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Mrs. Hatch taught school in Brigham City a number of years before her marriage. She served her church in many capacities. She was LDS Ward Releif Society president, Parowan Stake Relief Society president, She served on a mission for the LDS church in Eastern States. Mrs. Hatch graduated from Box Elder High School in 1913, attended Utah State College and the Univprsitv f Utah. She spent 2 years during World War I at Ft. Warren Wyoming with her husband and family, otherwise the last 50 years in Parowan, where she was active in Red Cross, American Legion Auxiliary, Ladies Literary Club. She lived to attend her family reunion of 100 members one week before her death Aug. 6, 1977. Services were held Wednesday in the Parowan Third Ward Chapel for Sarah Edna Hatch, an 83 year old Parowan stalwarth, with Bishop Glen Halterman conducting. Mrs. Hatch passed away on the evening of Saturday, August 5. |
