Show High School Band Leaves Friday For B.Y.U. Festival Following a very successful I band concert and dance, held to I raise funds with which to make the trip, the Cedar City high I school band will leave early Friday Fri-day morning to participate in the Brigham Young University band day activities. the band students presented a concert Friday evening to help finance the trip, and the same evening the Starliters orchestra and the civic clubs of Cedar City joined to stage a dance to add to the funds available. Wednesday morning the band made a tape recording of its concert and it will be sent to the members of the local National Guard unit serving in Korea, as a greeting from the band members. The band will play two concerts con-certs and make a tour of the Geneva steel plant at Provo, in addition to participating in the BYU event. The first concert will be given at the Millard high school-in Fillmore Friday afternoon after-noon and during the afternoon a concert will be given at the BY high school. In the evening the students will be taken on a conducted con-ducted tour of the steel plant. Saturday morning the band will Join with eight other bands for a massed band practice, and then will participate in the band activities before the BYU-USAC football game and at half-time of the game. The group will return home Saturday night |
