DON MICHAEL SMITH Ilona Adams, Don Michael Smith Exchange Marriage Vows, Greet Guests at Reception A double ring ceremony performed per-formed by President Elihu What-cott What-cott united in marriage Miss Ilona Ilo-na Adams and Don Michael Smith. The nuptial rites took place in the Fifth Ward chapel, Nov. 26, and a reception followed follow-ed In the ward cultural hall later lat-er In the evening. Parents of the couple are Mi. and Mrs. Drex Adams, Cedar City and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Smith, formerly of Cedar City, now of Salt Lake City. Wedding gown for the bride was made of chantilly lace and tulle over satin. Her veil fell to shoulder-length from a jeweled tiama and she held a bouquet composed of a large white orchid or-chid with clusters of white rose buds. Matron of honor was tha sister sis-ter of the bride, Mrs. Carl (Elizabeth) (Eliza-beth) Yardley. Miss Cheryl Williams, Wil-liams, Mrs. Paul Stokes, Mrs. Stephen Adams and another sister, sis-ter, Miss Vickie Adams, acted as bridesmaids. The matron of honor wore a gold brocade ankle-length ankle-length dress while the bridesmaids brides-maids were attired in orange brocade in like fashion. All attendants at-tendants held bouquets in keeping keep-ing with a theme of "golden wheat". Large bronz mums and deep bronze miniature mums were arranged with golden wheat. Best man was Rodger Ourr while Gary L. Smith, Leon Clark Jim Tullis and Stephen Adams served as ushers. The bride's mother's gown was a floral brocade sheath while the bridegroom's mother's gown uw a pink lacf- sheath. Both had glamelir corsages. Host .id hostesses at the reception re-ception were Mr. and Mrs. Howard How-ard Wood, Mrs. W. B. Adams, Jr., and Miss Ora Smith. Guest book attendant was Mrs. Gary L. Smith and gift room attendants were Mrs. Jesse R. Robb, Mrs. Hal Norton and Miss Kathy Murray. Mur-ray. Kitchen hostesses were all aunts of the bride, Mrs. William M. Hills, Mrs. W. V. Spencer, Mrs. Robert M. Adams and Mrs. J. V. Adams. They were assisted by the Misses Jeannie Forsyth, Roma Melllng, Shirley Bulloch, Danna Hunter and Janice Lamb, serving. Prelude music was rendered by the bridegroom's brother Gary L. Smith and wedding march music was played by Janice Lamb. Before going on a honeymoon trip to Las Vegas, Nevada, the bride changed into a going away beige suit with red accessories. The new Mrs. Smith is a graduate grad-uate of Cedar High School and a former student at College of Southern Utah where she was a member of the Thunderette's marching group. Her husband is a graduate of Cedar High and is in his second year at College of Southern Utah. At CSU he was a member of Sigma Zeta Phi. He is also employed as a salesman for Thorley Ford. Pre nuptial parties were given giv-en for the bride by Mrs. Paul Stokes and Miss Cheryl Williams. Guests from out-of-town who attended the wedding festivities included Mrs. Blanche Rollins, grandmother of the bridegroom; Mrs. Thelma Glllispie and Mr. and Mrs. Guy Gillispie, of St. George; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Binne-ovies, Binne-ovies, Zion National Park; Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Adams, brother broth-er and sister-in-law of the bride, Logan; Mr. and Mrs. M. V. Spencer Spen-cer and family, Escalante, Utah; Steve Asmus and Ruth Dounelly, Salt Lake City; Alvin Gillispie, Las Vegas, Nev. and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Church, Boulder City, Nev. |
