Show Rebecca 0. Smith is honored at funeral services ! Funeral services for Rebecca Rebec-ca Orton Smith, .81 year old resident of Parowan, was held Friday, Oct. 15 at 1 p. m. in the Parowan Third Ward Chapel with Bishop Stephen R. ! Adams of the First Ward con-I con-I ducting. Mrs. Orton died at , the county rest home here on Tuesday morning. The family prayer in the Relief Society room of the chapel cha-pel was by Harold Smith, The invocation was by EIRoy Bryant; Bry-ant; the benediction was by Royden Orton, and the grave in the Parowan City cemetery, was dedicated by a brother of the deceased, A. Hills Orton. Bishop Adams opened the services with brief remarks, ' and the speakers were Bruce D. Matheson and Stake Patriarch Patri-arch Oscar J. Hulet. Musical numbers included a vocal duct, "The Old Rugged Rug-ged Cross," by Rula D. Orton and Whitney Orton; and two songs by a ladies' trio, "Rock of Ages" and "A Perfect Day." The trio consisted of Barbara Batt, EIna Stubbs and Jackie Robinson with Itha Mortensen as accompanist. Prelude and Post hide music was by Barbara Bar-bara Batt. Pallbearers wore EHRoy and Ellis Bryant, Orton and Sheldon Shel-don Smith, and Twenty and A. Hills Orton. Flowers were carried by grandchildren. |
