Show Funeral Services Held For Sheldon Edwards Funeral services were held In the Paragonah Ward Chapel last Wed. nesday for Sheldon Edwards, 24. who died at the Iron county hospital hos-pital Sunday, October 28, form a heart ailment from which he had suffered all his life. Speakers at the services Included Wm. P. Barton, Thomas Robinson, of Paragonah; President Olen E. Snow of the Dixie College, St. George; and President D. L. Sargent, Sar-gent, of the Parowan Stake, Cedar City. Invocation was by Doyle Robinson, Ro-binson, and benediction by T. Wen. die Bales. The grave was dedicated by John T. Woodbury. Musical numbers Included the opening song, "Going Home" by a male quartet; vocal solo, "In The Garden of Tomorrow," by Kenneth Weight, an instrumental trio, "Oh, Dry Those Tears," by Ivan Decker Family; a vocal duet, "My Father Knows," by Wm. Macfarlane and Ray Cosslett of Cedar City; a vocal solo. 'Lay My Head Beneath a Rose," by Mrs. Scott Day; a vocal solo "In The Garden" by Ray Cosslett, Coss-lett, and three numbers by the choir. i i Sheldon was born at Paragonah on November 23, 1921, the con of Mr. and Mrs. David B. Edwards. He was afflicted with a heart all-ment all-ment .Tom the time of birth, but was determined to succeed, oni af. ter attending school in Paragonah, graduated from the Parowan nigh school and the Dixie College, com. pleting his school work with high honors. Active In student body nf. fairs he served as treasurer at the college, won two oratorical contest, and was valdlctorlan of his Seminary Sem-inary class, and also won a medal f " In a PanlAmerican essay contest. He spent much of his leisure time raising flowers. He is survived by his parents, and two sisters, Mrs. Flossie Harris and Miss Dixie June Edwards of Salt Lake City. |
