Between the two is the TIARA worn, by ihe Sovereign Pontiff. In the center, of the picture," encircled bv a large Imposing arch is a picture of the iaie POPE LEO Xlfl. taken from his latest photograph, photo-graph, and givlnp one of his most benevolent expression.-? of countenance. ' On either siue of the arrh is a rep-' r?entation of thc chalice; beneath them representations of seven candlestick, candle-stick, containing lighted .candles. Lower down in the arch is a repre sentation of the POPE H INSIGNIA' cn th4 left side and on the right side is the OSTENSOR1UM. This is particularly par-ticularly appropriate to every true believer, be-liever, nasmuch as the Pop is the direct descendant of Peter, to whom these words applied, and who is ' described in Holy. Writ as the rock. Underneath the rock are two keys crossed tOKether with a rotgiry, and beneath this is a tablet ith the PARTICULARS OF THE BIOGRAPHY BIO-GRAPHY of the Jate-.
