Show Death of Colonel Dewey. Boise, Idaho, May 8. Colonel W. II. Dewey died of dropsy at 12:55 this morning at the Dewey Palace hotel at Nampa. He was SO years of age and a native of New York. Colonel Dewey was one of the very prominent men of the state. He made a fortune .n the mines of Silver City and more recently developed the valuable valu-able Dewey mine at Thunder Mountain. Moun-tain. He built two short lines of railway, rail-way, one from Nampa to Murphy and the other from Nampa to Emmett. Another monument is his Nampa hotel, ho-tel, which was opened three months ago. It cost $250,000. His estate is estimated at from $1,000,000 to $1,-200,000. $1,-200,000. . ' |
