Show I EUREKA. St. Joseph's Parochial School. The semi-annual examinations took place during the pait week, and the result re-sult was extremely gratifying to all concerned. Wa congratulate Rev. Father O'Don-chue O'Don-chue ,a.s well ac. his select teaic-hers, the Sifters of the Holy Cross, upon the signal ouccem that has already crowned crown-ed St. Joseph's parochial school. Such success as thi?, we may remark, is not only a ource of great satisfaction to tine Rev. Pastor who makes the mental and moral training of his parochial children his first care, but it also brings joy to' the heart.? of 1 Cat'hoWc parents, for they are .thereby convinced that their children's intellectual training is of tho beet, while the'ir moral natures are moulded in the eelustial alembic of enduring virtue. Such evidence of excellence, ex-cellence, moreover, contradicts tlhe statements of certain free and easy Catholics who pretend to think that the parochial schools are good for nothing except to teach the catechism. Those people .seem to foiget that same of the brightest men and women are products of the parochial schooli? brought under tlhe eye of their Pastor, and under the training hand of teachers teach-ers that can compare with the best. The Sixers of the Hy Cross are to be congratulated on the succe? of their pupils at St. Joseph'.? school, which speaks eloquently of encouragement from the Pastor, and the hearty co-operation of all concerned. Ncr must the briglhtnes'S and aptitude of the pupils be overlooked; we heartily congratulate them on their succees. |
