Show LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST. if, if, if, rf, rf, if, if, f, )f, ff, Mrs. Ralph Collings and son, Dal-lin, Dal-lin, were here last Saturday and Sunday Sun-day from Monroe visiting with Mr. Collings. Chas. C. Nielson, deputy county assessor, returned Tuesday from a short business and pleasure trip to Salt Lake. Anton Bastian rcurned to Salt Lake last Saturday. He was here on a brief visit to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. Bastian. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Coldwell of Centerfield Cen-terfield were made happy last Saturday Satur-day when a bouncing baby boy was born to them. Both mother and baby are doing nicely. Percy Nelson and A. B. Nelson, who have been at Cleveland for the past two months looking after their business interests, returned to Gunnison Gunni-son yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Poulson of Manti, are here for a brief visit. They were called here on account of the illness of Mrs Poulson's mother, Mrs. A. O. Peterson. Miss Bernice Mansfield left for Salt Lake the first of the week where she underwent an operation for ap-pedicitis. ap-pedicitis. She was accompanied by relatives. C. M. Madsen returned Tu-1 day from a business and pleasure trip to Salt Lake. He was visiting with his daughter, Miss Christy and incidentally incident-ally hob-nobbing with members of thh legislature. Miss Mary McCallum, community worker for the Home Mission board of the Presbyterian church at Salina. was the guest of Miss Josie Curtis and Miss McMonigal last Friday and Saturday. Niels Myrup, who has been visiting with his family in Gunnison for the past five weeks, left this morning for the Hill Creek ranch in the Book-cliffe Book-cliffe mountains. Mr. Myrup is in charge of the big ranch which is owned by he and his brothers. Wendall Perkins is here from Koos-herem Koos-herem on a brief visit to his parents Mr. Perkins, principal of the Koos. herem schools, was forced to close his sessions on accoi t of a "flu" epidemic. He expects to return to his duties the first of the coming week. P. T. Henry, president of the Val-dasfv. Val-dasfv. Mining company, operating valuable properties in the Marysvalc district, left the first of the week for eastern cities. Mr. Henry will visit Chicago, New York and other centers in the interests of his company. com-pany. Mrs. Eva Jensen entertained the members of the Bonne Foi club at her home yesterday afternoon. During Dur-ing the needlecraft hour, Mrs. II. W. Cherry read a biographical sketch on the life of Thomas Edison. Delicious refershments were served by the hostess at five o'clock. Miss Lois Myrup, who haR been teaching school at Koosherem, is taking tak-ing a week's forced vacation and is visiting with her parents in Gunnison. Influenza broke out in Kooseherem and as a result schools were closed and business demoralized. Miss Myrup states, however, that tho disease is in a light fomr. Mr. and Mrs. Edd Jensen delightfully delight-fully entertained sixteen friends t a Progressive Five Hundred party at their home last evening. In addition to cards other games were enjoyed. Prizes were won by Mrs. J. M. Knighton Knigh-ton and MrH. Claud Mickelson. Dainty refreshments were served at ten o'clock. Mrs. Ira Ovcrfelt was hostess to the members of the Royal Neighbors last Saturday afternoon from two to five thirty. Twelve guests were present pres-ent and Progressive Five Hundred was enjoyed until five thirty when delicious refreshments were served. Honors nt cards were won by Mrs. J. A. Hagan and Mrs. J. .S Peterson. Mrs. Edward Childs delightfully entertained en-tertained a number of friends at a chicken dinner and social time at her home last Saturday evening. Following Fol-lowing an elaborate dinner which was served at 8 o'clock, games and music were enjoyed. In the game context Mrs. Andrew Modeen and II. A. Christiansen were victors.
