Show Community Talk To Club Members At the banquet of the Entrc Nous Club held at, the Gunnison Hotel last Wednesday, W. M. Wilson of the National Na-tional Portland Cement Association addressed those present on the subject sub-ject of "Unity of Purpose and Effort as applied to Community Building." Mr. Wilson, among other things gave ii is interpretation of what constituted liie real big men of a community as follows: "It is not the man who through good fortune or selfish effort accumulates ac-cumulates wealth a fid power, sets I himsiU' up as a self constituted dicta-' dicta-' tor and with a hallow of imagined im-poitancc im-poitancc surrounding him, undertakes . a policy of rule or ruin, that is really the big man. Par from it, he, as a Mile is really the smallest man that you have in the community. The real big men are those good citizens constituting con-stituting the rank and file of your business and the professional men, your farmers and mechanics who are broad and big enough to give and take so far as their ideas go, spend a few j hours each week for the general wel-( wel-( fare of all concerned and, work united j ly for the purpose of making their town or community one in which they I are proud to say 'here is where I live and I am proud of it." Mr. Wilson also offered a number of suggestions as to how, when and where it might be possible to get the most for our road money, informing as to methods followed by other com. ! munitjes which were successful in se-I se-I curing- that; for which thhey were endeavoring. |
