Ida was born in Gunnison, Utah, to Leroy and Minnie Bartholomew Edwards. She married Ralph Lavar Jensen on May 4, 1939. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. As a young lady, Ida worked as an operator at the Gunnison Telephone Company. She graduated from 'Gunnfson High School and then worked in the local drug store. After her marriage the couple moved to Centerfield where Ralph owned and operated a business. Ida was a gentle, patient person with a positive attitude. She was perfectly focused on serving the needs of people around her. Her primary concern was her family, and she devoted her time in establishing a home filled with peace and security where her children were taught the values of love, service and knowledge. She was an accomplished violinist and contributed her musical talents in the church and community. She shared her love of music with her children and gave them opportunities to discover and to develop their own skills and talents. Ida was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served faithfully in the many teaching and leadership positions in the church auxiliaries. She quietly observed and fulfilled the needs of those around her. She loved the Lord and spoke of that love and the need to serve even when her memory of all else had dimmed. As Ralph's health declined, they returned to Gunnison where Ida again worked at the Gunnison Telephone Company, and when Ida began to lose her vision, they moved to Provo in order to be near to family. Ida had always loved to read, and when she could no longer see, she discovered the world of information contained on tape recordings. Ralph and Ida made their home at the Cove Point Retirement Center in Provo, Utah, where they enjoyed the friendship of the many good people who also lived there. After Ralph's death in 1992, she spent -if .:'; Jensen some time in Mapleton and then moved to the Crestview Care Center (now Trinity Mission Health and Rehabilitation) in Provo. The'family would like to thank the staff and residents at Trinity Mission who have been her caretakers and friends.
