Show Pleasant Birthday Surprise. One of tie most charming social events reported during the week in our city is the surprise party last Sunday Sun-day evening tendered Mrs William Metcalf on the occasion of her fiftieth anniversary. Mrs Metcalf was completely amazed amaz-ed with the unexpected appearance of friends to the number of fifty, who entered the home- and unceremoniously unceremoni-ously assumed charge. Games and music mingled in the evening's u- joyment, all participating in truly social spirit. An elaborate luncheon was served, covers being laid for Messrs and Mesdames Mes-dames Anthony Metcalf, TF Kearns, George H Knighton, Fremont Barnes, J A Tuft, J W Edwards, H A Kearns, J A Hagan, C M Madsen, H M Childs , E L Swalberg, N C Sorenson, C W Perkins, Ira Over-felt, Over-felt, L H Childs, Jchp Beal, Wm Perkins, T M Kearns, Ray Metcalf, C N Jens9n and H P Jensen ; Mesdames Mes-dames Emma Kearns, Gustava Cap-son, Cap-son, Delia Edwards, Anna Larson and O H Halverson ; Misses Ecaily Larson , Idell Childs and Talula Metcalf; Met-calf; Mr Henry Knighton and the honored guest and her husband- Mrs Metcalf felt highly pleased with the visit bo well planned by her friends to mark the half century period of her life. All had a good time. |
