Show Half a Chance. In "Half a Chance," Frederick Isham's latest novel, the hero is falsely accused of murder, after he has wasted his talents in carousing, carous-ing, and is sentenced to penal servitude servi-tude for life in the colonies. Cast away upon a deserted isle by a freak of fortune, he opens a box which floats ashore, thinking he will come upon rum, the only thing he desires. The box proves to contain books law books and after several years devoted de-voted to the study of law, he Is rescued from his solitude and startles England with his knowledge knowl-edge and successful practice ot criminal law. Of course, ho finds the real murdered, after some thrilling adventures, and wins the love of a beautiful belle, and all ends happily. But it is the manner in which this really elever story is told that attracts and finally fascinates the reader, making mak-ing it one of the best stories Mr. Ish-frm Ish-frm flt has ever written, and one which should prove a good seller.
