Show Pure Food Act Upheld. Chicago. Federal Judge Sanborn, in a test case questioning the constitutionality consti-tutionality of the government pure food and drug act, on Saturday upheld up-held the validity of the law. The case was that of the government against the Crescent Manufacturing company, of Seattle, makers of "Mapleline." The government alleged that the use of this name constituted misbranding, inasmuch as this substitute for maple syrup contained'no maple juices. The defense alleged that the name was justified by the flavor of the product. |
