Bo it ordained by tho City Council of Salt Lako City, Utah. Section 1. That tho City Council j does hereby levy tho tax r-nd provide for tho assessment of tho samo upon tho property hereinafter described in lots Nos. 2 and 3, block 4; 1 and 4, block 5; 1 and 4, block 12; 2 and 3, block 13; 2 and 3, block 20; 1 and 4, Hi block 21; 1 and 4, block 28, and 2 and I 3, block 29, plat "G, Salt Lake City 1 survey, Abutting on both sides of ' R 1 street from South Templo street to i t Fourth street, in Sower District No. ,1 1, said property having a frontage of 2,040 feet along said strool. H! This tax is levied to defray tho ox- i pense of constructing a vitrified plpo t sewer eight inches in diameter upon said portion of said street opposite the property hereinafter described to bo especially affected and benefited by J said improvement, and it is hereby ad- l judged, determined and established that tho same will be especially beno-i beno-i I flted thereby to tho full amount of tho ff tax hereby lovied, and said parcels of fc land are hereby assessed at an equal 1 and uniform rate In accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said por-tlon por-tlon of said street fronting upon and g to a depth Of twenty-five (26) foot P back therefrom, and tho tax hereby f levied and to be assessed upon said f parcels of land is one thousand eight u hundred and forty-eight ($1,848.00) dollars? or 70-100 ($.7& dollars per H front or linear foot, which is the os- KX timated total cost and estimated cost per front foot of said sewer, and the , treasurer is hereby authorized and di- H rected to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the H rurnose herein mentioned, all of lots i 2 and 3, block 4; all of lots 1 and 4, block 5; all of lots 1 and 4, block 12; all of lots 2 and 3, block 13; all of lots 2 and 3, block 20; all of lots 1 and 4, block 21; all of lots 1 and 4, block 28, and all of lots 2 and 3, block 2D, plat "G," Salt Lake City survey, as the samo aro shown upon the pfflcial plats of said city to a depth of twenty-five twenty-five (25) feet back from said street, and to collect said tax. Sec. 2. Said tax shall become and bo delinquent in six equal installments, install-ments, as follows, to-wit: One-sixth thereof shall become and be delinquent ono month after the approval of this ordinance; one-sixth thereof in ono year, after such approval; one-sixth thereof in two years after such approval; ap-proval; one-sixth thereof In three years after such approval; ono-olxth thereof in four years after such approval, and one-sixth tnereof in five years after such approval. Each and every installment install-ment of said tax except tho first shall draw interest at the rate of six per cent per annum from date of levy until delinquent, de-linquent, and each and every installment install-ment of said tax shall bear Interest at tho rate of eight per cent per annum from and after its date of delinquency. Sewer Extension No. 169. AN ORDINANCE. An Ordinance Repealing and Re-enacting Section 355, Chapter XXVI of tho Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, which reads as follows, after the words Tho Land and Water Commissioner shall have such deputies, at such compensation as tho City Council Coun-cil many from time to time allow: Bo It Ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: Aritcle 1. That Section 355 of Chapter Chap-ter XXVI of tho Revised Ordinances of Salt Lako City, bo and tho samo is horeby repealed and ro-onacted so as to read as follows: Secion 355. Tho Land and Water Commissioner shall have power, subject sub-ject to tho approval of the City Council, Coun-cil, to appoint tho following named deputies and assistants: Ono Office Deputy, at a salary of Nino Hundred Dollars per annum. Ono Patrolman, with horse, for City Creek Canyon, r.t a salary of $2.50 per dav, whose duty it shall be to keep tho canyoi lear of all rubbish and refuse, and to patrol the same, each day to the Divide, from the first day of March until tho first day of December of each year. Ono Patrolman, with horse, for Parley's Par-ley's Canyon, at a salary of Nine Hundred Hun-dred Dollars per annum, whose duty It shall bo to keop the canyon and crook free of all rubbish and dobris, and whoso duty It shall bo to live at the station In Parley's Canyon from the first day, of March until tho first day of December of each year. One Ranchman, with horse, to live In the canyon and look after the ranches and building in Parley's Canyon and Mountain Doll, and to keep tho creek open during tho winter, In tho upper part of tho canyon, at a salary of Nine j Hundred Dollars per annum. Ono Foreman, and two men with horses, for Jordan and Salt Lako Canal, ' at a salary of $2.50 por day each. A Any additional labor that emergen- ' ji cios may require. ' Such salaries shall bo paid as are the salaries of othor City employees. . Article 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances In conflict herewith are hereby repealed to tho extent of such conflict Article 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon aproval.
