Show Determination Pays Off for New Mascot Determined in her efforts to secure enough money to purchase a mascot costume for Panguitch High School, junior LaRae Nay single handedly collected $450 this past week. Nay had approached principal, LeRoy Burger about the desire of students to purchase a Bobcat Mascot outfit and was told the student council would match whatever funds could be raised for the endeavor. So taken with the idea was Nay that in three days she had canvassed neighborhoods neigh-borhoods and businesses in Panguitch and with the overwhelming support of her efforts was able to collect the entire amount needed to purchase the outfit for Panguitch High School. Nay again approached principal Burger and was given the go ahead to order the costume from Salt Lake City. Meanwhile student council members convened and unanimously voted Nay as mascot for the 1979-130 school year. Student body and Bobcat fans expressed ex-pressed their delight when Nay donned the Bobcat outfit and appeared for the final weekend of basketball playoffs at the recent Region 12 games. |
