Our sympathies to Yarlta Harman on the sudden death of her mother in Samoa. Yarlta has gone to be with the family during dur-ing this sad time. Her niece Caroline Fuga who is now released from her LDS mission in San Diego, Calif., is joining Yarlta and the rest of the family. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. Wade Ramsay was seen in Tropic visiting with his parents, Clare and Mary Lee Ramsay. Utah Pioneers, Pahreah Camp, held their meeting on Jan. 20. Fifteen ladies were in attendance to hear Florence Syrett give a history of her great-grandmother Edley Carter. La Vera Moss gave a lesson on "Pioneers of Millard County". Wonderful refreshments were served after. Anyone interested in joining the DUP can attend a meeting on the third Monday of each month at the Tropic Scout House at 1 :30 P.M. You can also contact Rebecca Wagstaff, Dixie Shakespear, or any of the other ladies who are members. Dixie Shakespear recently spent a nice time in Panguitch with her brother LeFair Hall from Boulder. Danny Shakespear of New Harmony, Dixie's son, came for a day to visit with Dixie in Tropic. Daughter Arvon Button of Kanab came with grandson Dillon to visit for four days. They had a very nice visit. Heber Hall of Salt Lake City, came to visit Dixie on his way to Boulder. Heber loves this country coun-try and keeps on driving down to see it. When I was a student in junior high school, Heber Hall was my science teacher. Small world isn't it. Wes and Ellen Clarke took son Preston to Provo to enter the Missionary Training Center where he will prepare for his LDS mission to the Mexico, Mexico City North mission. Lillis Francisco and daughter Deanne traveled to St. George to visit with Anita. Anita is the daughter of Lillis and sister to Deanne. Jeanene Pollock is starting to feel better and is eagerly awaiting await-ing the return of son Shanon Pollock who is coming home from his two years in the mission mis-sion field. Dad Vance and sister Sunny join Jeanene in counting down to the day when they can pick him up in St. George. |
