Show Melva "DoUy" Wardrobe Henry ESCALANTE Melva "Dolly" Wardrobe Henry, 79 of Escalante, died Nov. 18, 1999 in Panguitch. She was born Apr. 20, 1920 in Gridley, Calif, to Fred Putney and Ruby Ann Walker Wardrobe. She married William H. Henry, Sept. 3, 1943 in Los Angeles, Calif. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple in 1950. He preceded her in death Feb. 28, 1977. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed many activities: roller skate dancing, acrobatic dancing, hunting and fishing with dad and worked as a bookkeeper until the age of 70. She enjoyed genealogy, sewing, handwork with quilts, quilling and punch work, tatting and crocheting, she loved to bake and decorate cakes for many occasions. She was an active member of the LDS Church serving as a primary pri-mary teacher, stake Beehive leader; she served two missions to the Indiana In-diana Indianapolis LDS Mission. She recently moved to Escalante and has enjoyed her time there. She is survived by three daughters daugh-ters and one son: Bonnie (Clare) Teerlink of Citrus Heights, Calif., Daryle (Heber "Bart") Bartholomew, Georgette (Richard) Costigan, both of Escalante; Bill (Pattie) Henry of Bend, Ore.; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Fred "Buzz" (Anna) Wardrobe of Merced, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister: Barbara Jean Gaines; brother: James E. Wardrobe. Funeral services were held on Monday, Nov. 22 at the Escalante LDS Stake Center, with Bishop Wade Barney officiating. The family prayer was offered by Gene Morris and prelude and postlude music was played by I . ' -i&m in ' t ' S . ..-r i .:.' Melva "Dolly" Henry Cathy Griffin. The invocation was offered by Bart Bartholomew. Karen Peterson sang, "O, My Father," and a tribute was given by Richard Costigan. Remarks were made by Bishop Wade Barney. "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" Rain-bow" was sung by Karen Peterson and the benediction was offered by Clare Teerlink. Pallbearers were Levi Costigan, Eric Henry, Joshua Henry, Jeremy Ashlock, Gene Morris, Tom Morris, Mor-ris, and Craig Morris. Honorary pallbearers were Dus-tin Dus-tin Perry-Brewer, Jonathon Castillo, Marceleno Castillo, Matthew Mat-thew Brown, Eric Morris and John Morris. Interment was at the Escalante Cemetery. The dedication of the grave was offered by Bill Henry. Compassionate services were rendered by the Escalante 1st Ward Relief Society sisters. Funeral directors: Neal S. Ma-gleby Ma-gleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield. J ackie Henderson Yvonne "Jackie" Lister Henderson, Hen-derson, age 79, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999 in Las Vegas, Nev. She was born Mar. 24, 1920 in Panguitch, Utah, to Samuel and Lula Amanda Clark Lister. On May 11, 1945, she married George Keith Henderson in Cannonville, Utah. On Mar. 23, 1965, they were sealed in the St. George LDS Temple. Jackie grew up in Panguitch. She attended school in Yermo, Calif, then lived in Oregon, Pioche, Nev., and in Southern Utah before finally settling in the Moapa Valley in Nevada. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and of the Moapa Valley Art Guild. As an active member of the LDS Church, she served in the Relief Society, Primary and in the Cub Scouts. From 1992-94, she served a mission with, her husband in the Albuquerque, NM Mission to the Apache Indians. She enjoyed handicrafts, bird watching and flower gardening. Survivors include her husband Keith, two sons and three daughters: daugh-ters: Betty (Bud) Sprague of St. George, Utah; Joyce (Ron) Leavitt of Overton, Nev.; Oscar (Kerrie) Henderson of Logandale, Nev.; Mary (Ray) Stewart of Las Vegas, Nev.; Rhoana (Richard) Deelstra of Mesquite, Nev.; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Marion Boyd Lister of Overton. She was preceded in death by four sons, one grandson, five brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 22, 1999 at the Logandale LDS Stake Center. Interment was in the Logandale Cemetery under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary, Mesquite, Nev. |
