Show - Tropic Topics - Ella Adair Bryce Valley is being well represented at the various colleges this winter. New students attending are: Brigham Young University -Jan Fullmer and Kimberly Talbot; Southern Utah State College -Tnnette Littlefield, Jay Littlefield, Sheila LeFevre, Crystal Mangum, Cns Baugh, Shawn Bybee and Richard Ott; and Utah Technical College - Christina Chynoweth. Several who attended last year have also returned to college. Larry and wife Judy Adair spent Saturday with their parents, the Arnold Adairs. Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Miles and daughters Amanda Miles and Amy Miles of Cedar City were weekend guests at the Arnold Adair home. Mr. and Mrs. Norm Littlefield attended the football game in Price Saturday, to watch the College of Eastern Utah play and win their game. The coach is their son Lanny LitUefield. The Clive Bybees had all of their children home for the open house for newlyweds Curtis and Rhonda Bybee Fry. The bride is the daughter of the Clive Bybees. They will make their home in Las Vegas. A beautiful garden setting for the event was at the Bybee home. Margaret Mecham and Margie Mecham spent the weekend in Salt Lake City visiting family members. Tuesday, Oct 13 will be Senior Citizens Day at Ruby's Inn for all Senior Citizens in the county. Vans will furnish transportation for those who need it. Lunch will be served at noon, followed by a lecture after which those wanting to see Bryce Canyon will be taken on a tour of the park. Reservations for lunch must be made no later than Sunday, Oct. 1 1 with local directors or Deon Alvey. The Tropic LDS Ward Relief Society held their work meeting Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Adair were in Cedar City on business during the week. Eva Pollock spent a week in Provo with her daughter Pauline Allen and got acquainted with her new granddaughter. Mary Ott took son Kim Ott to Cedar City to catch the plane to return home to California, Mr. and Mrs. Bart Palmer, Mr. and Mrs. Afton Pollock, and Mr. and Mrs. Dexter Francisco were in St. George to attend graduation exercises at Evans Beauty College. Merrilee Palmer and Anita Francisco were among the graduates. Mr. and Mrs. LaMar LeFevre were in Las Vegas taking care of their home there. Kay Nielsen and Vickie Syrett took a group of Bryce Valley Future Homemakers of America girls to the state convention in Provo. The Jr. Varsity team took part in the tournament in Panguitch. Dixie Shakespear was a recent visitor in California and in Salt Lake City. |
