Show OBITUARIES Ha Jean Winn Ila Jean Haws Jepsen Winn, 78 of Richfield, passed away Sept. 12, 1998, in Provo. She was born, June 14, 1920, in Richfield to Henry Jason and Maud Elsie Peterson Peter-son Haws. She married Bert William Jepsen, Jep-sen, Jan. 14, 1941, and he preceded her in death, Jan. 17, 1963. She married Jess Winn, Jan. 24, 1969, and he preceded her in death May 9, 1986. She enjoyed reading and crocheting. crochet-ing. She made many afghans and gave them to her grandchildren. She loved to spend time with her family. fam-ily. She owned and operated Poul-son's Poul-son's Cafe and Ila Jean's Cafe in Richfield. After retiring from the restaurant business, she cooked for the Richfield Rich-field Care Center for many years. She is survived by two sons and two daughters: Billie Jean (Bob) Larsen, Heber City; Norma Dean (Alma) Blake, Salina; Dall Jess (Guin) Winn, St. George; and John C. (Claudia) Winn, Murrells Inlet, S.C.; 14 grandchildren; 35 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; 10 great-greatgrandchildren; brothers and sisters, Neta Poulson; Fay (Neal) Jepsen, both of Boulder; Genevieve Weir, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Jim (Allene) Haws, Torrey; sister-in-law, Idona r ' ....... ,..- Haws, Boulder She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Leland Haws and Otto Haws; brothers-in-law: Heber Poulson and Bill Weir; sister-in-law, Golda Haws. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Sept. . 16, 1998 in Richfield. Burial was in the Richfield Rich-field City Cemetery. Funeral directors: Neal S. Ma-gleby Ma-gleby & Sons Mortuary. Thomas Richard Dobson Thomas Richard Dobson, age 45, passed away Monday, Sept. 7 in West Valley. Tom was born Feb. 19, 1953, in Tucson, Ariz., a son of John F. and Juanita Alafaro Dobson. He married Carla Fuzari on Feb. 3, 1973 in Provo. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Tom graduated from Panguitch High School. He received his BA in statistics from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the University of Utah. He served an LDS mission in Brazil, where he learned to love the language and the people. He enjoyed en-joyed speaking Portuguese at home with his children. Tom served in the Bishopric and on the Stake High Council. He also served as Deacon's Quorum advisor. He worked for TRW as a systems engineer en-gineer for 14 years. ;- Tom was accomplished in many great things and touched the lives of many people. He was a very bright man, and enjoyed reading, learning and teaching. Surviving are his wife Carla of Layton; two sons: John J. Dobson and Michael F. Dobson, both of Layton; three daughters: Paula Dobson, Andrea Dobson and Danielle Dan-ielle Dobson, all of Layton; his mother and one sister, Marveline Colby, Price; three step-brothers: Larry Talbot, Salt Lake City; Tom Talbot, Cedar City; and Roger Talbot, Tal-bot, Moab; and two step sisters: Janice Hatch, Panguitch and Linda Wright, Kanab. He was preceded in death by his father, his step-father, L.J. Talbot, and step-brother, Daniel Talbot. Funeral services were held Sept. 12 in Layton. Interment was in the Lindquist Memorial Park in Lay-ton. Lay-ton. A trust fund has been set up for the benefit of the Dobson children. Contributions can be sent to the Bank of Utah. |
