Show John Bryant Stout II John (Jack) Bryant Stout II, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 1991, in Panguitch at the age of 68. He was born April 15, 1923, in Lawrence, Kan. to John Bryant and Lillian Hickey Stout. He married to Emily Stout in Azusa, Calif, but was later divorced. He was a resident of Bull Head City, Ariz, for 15 years, but for the past five years maintained a residence in Panguitch. Pan-guitch. John was a World War II veteran, veter-an, serving in the US Army. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Elks and Moose Lodges. His hobbies included in-cluded hunting, fishing, black powder rifles and Indian bead- CIRCLEVILLE Leo Coates, 76, died September, 25, 1991 at a hospital in Beaver. He was born on June 5, 1915 to Wilford and Lillie Anderson Coates in Kingston, Utah. His marriage in Richfield to VaLoy Jensen on September 23, 1935 was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on March 31, 1942. An active member of the LDS Church, he held numerous positions. posi-tions. He was a truck driver, construction con-struction worker and also employed em-ployed as butcher in Murdock's IGA. He lived in Beaver for 44 years. He is survived by his wife; three children: Kent L. Coates, Circleville; Randall J. Coates, Murray; and Mrs. Danny (Tanya) White, Beaver; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother and one sister. Funeral services were held Saturday, Sat-urday, Sept. 28, at the Beaver Fifth LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Lynn Bradshaw officiating. Randall Ran-dall Coates offered the family prayer with an invocation by Gary Quinn. Both prelude and postlude music were provided by Lori Worthen with vocal solos by Jimmy Cooper and Dwain Davis as well as a duet by the Hugh Howards. There was a tribute given by Danny White. Ashlie White recited reci-ted a poem and Dr. Roger Smith work. He is survived by his children: Mary Duncan, Covina, Calif.; Nancy Stout, Kansas; Karen Gray, Upland, Calif.; Stan Stout, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; Robert Stout, Azusa, Calif.; Roger Stout, El Monte, Calif.; and Russell Stout, Chino, Calif. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 1 in Bull Head City with Rev. Gary Ramer of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment Inter-ment was in the Desert Lawn Memorial Gardens in Mojave Valley, Val-ley, Ariz., under the direction of Dimond & Sons Silver Bell Chapel. Leo K. Coates V . n s Leo K. Coates spoke. Closing remarks were by Bishop Bradshaw. Glade Jensen offered of-fered the benediction and Kent Coates dedicated the grave at the Kingston Cemetery. Pallbearers were Shawp White, Dwain Coates, Terry Worthen, Doug Coates, Juel Jensen, Gaylcn Jensen, Brent Winn and Brent Coates. Included as honorary pallbearers pallbear-ers were Jeff Caotes, Steven Quinn, Eddie Quinn, Bruce Harris, Brad Baker, LaRell Baker and Waldo Jensen. Leland 'Pat" Pollock Leland Patterson "Pat" Pollock, age 68, died Sept. 30, 1991 in St. George, Utah of Cancer. He was born July 7, 1923 in Henrieville to Parley Franklin and Lydia Jane Willis Pollock. He married RaVae Hatch at Ely, Nev. Mr. Pollock was a WWII Marine Ma-rine Corp veteran, entering the service ser-vice at age 18. He was awarded a citation for outstanding marksmanship, marksman-ship, and a purple heart. He was active in the Bryce Valley American Legion Post 18. When he was 16 years old, he went to work for the Civilian Conservation Con-servation Corp. A 36-year employee of the National Na-tional Park Service, he retired as roads and trails foreman for Bryce Canyon National Park. He was an elder in the LDS Church and also served on the Tropic town council and as fire chief. An avid sportsman, he loved the out of doors, especially hunting and fishing. He reloaded shells for i id many friends and family members over the years. He also enjoyed square dancing through which he made many lasting friendships. Most of all, he lived for his wife, children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Tropic; children, Karl and LaPriel Wilson, St. George; Steve and Leila King and Joey and Coleen Comp, Richfield; Roger and Lydia Cutler and Andy and Rhonda Gant, Kanab; and Leland F. and Michelle Pollock, Panguitch; two brothers and a sister of Tropic, Adrian Pollock, Pol-lock, Jack Pollock and Shirley Haycock. Funeral services will be held Thrusday, Oct. 3 at 1 p.m. at the Tropic LDS Ward chapel where family and friends may call from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Henrieville Cemetery under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary, Kanab. |
