Show Final Candidate Files For Election PANGUITCH - As the filing deadline for November's election : drew to a close on Tuesday, only two people had filed to challenge the county's incumbents who had filed the previous week. Donna Guida in the clerk's office at the courthouse reported at 4:55 p.m. that the final candidate, Tracy Armstrong of Panguitch, had filed as a Republican to run against Tom Simkins, incumbent county assessor, also a Republican. County Republicans will decide at their county convention set for April 10 whether both names will appear on the fall primary ballot. Sharon Sawyer of Hatch had filed earlier, challenging District 5 school board incumbent Dell LeFevre of Boulder, who had filed earlier, for the non-partisan. Others who filed earlier include County Sheriff Than Cooper, County Commissioners Maloy Dodds and Clare Ramsay, County Attorney Wallace Lee, County Clerk Camille Moore, County Recorder Les Barker, County Treasurer Judy Henrie and County Justice Judge John W. Yardley. Incumbent school board - member Trish Thompson, District 4, (Bryce Valley area) also filed. |
