Show GARFIELD COUNTY RESOLUTION NO. 1978-8 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF GARFIELD COUNTY, STATE OF UTAH, ESTABLISHING ELECTION DISTRICTS WITHIN SAID COUNTY, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY GRANTED IN Sec. 17-5-18, UTAH CODE ANN., 1953 AS AMENDED. BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Garfield County, state of Utah, as follows: Section 1. Garfield County is hereby divided into election districts to be known by the following designations: Panguitch No. 1 Panguitch No. 2 Hatch No. 3 Tropic No. 4 Antimony No. 5 Cannonville No. 6 Henrievtlle No. 7 Escalante No. 8 Boulder No. 9 East County No. 10 Section 2. The legal description of each election district shall be as follows: PANGUITCH NO. 1: Beginning at a point on the North boundary line of Garfield County intersected by U. S. Highway 89 and running thence South along U. S. Highway 89 to the intersection of Main Street and Center Street in Panguitch; thence Southerly along the Panguitch Lake road to the Seciton line dividing Section 13, Township 35 South, Range 6 West, and Section 18, Township 35 South, Range 5 West, SLB&M; thence South along the section line to the South boundary of Township 35 South; thence East along the Township line to the Southeast corner of Section 36, Township 35 South, Range 4 West; thence North along the Range line to the Northwest comer of Section 6, Township 35 South, Range 3 West; thence East along the Township line to the Northeast corner of Section 1, Township 35 South, Range 3 West; thence North along the Range line to the Northwest corner of Section 30, Township 34 South, Range 3 West; thence East to the Northeast corner of Section 29, Township 34 South, Range 3 West; thence North along the Section line to the North boundary of the County; thence west along the North County boundary line to the point of beginning. PANGUITCH NO. 2: Beginning at a point on the NOrth boundary line of Garfield County intersected by U. S. Highway 89, and continuing in a generally southerly direction along U. S. Highway 89 to the intersection of Main .Street and Center Street In Panguitch; thence Southerly along the Panguitch Lake road to the section line dividing Section 13, Township 35 South, Range 6 West, and Section 18, Township 35 South, Range 5 West, Salt Lake Base and Meridian; thence South along the range line to the South line of Township 35 South; thence West to the Northwest comer of Section 1, Township 36 South, Range 6 West; thence ' South along the section l line to the Southeast 'j-j-u-u-i-nj-i----.- - r I corner of Section 14, Township 36 South, Range 6 West; thence West along the section line to the West boundary of the County; thence North and East along the County boundary line to the point of beginning, HATCH NO. 3: Beginning on the South boundary line of Garfield County at the point dividing Range 5 West and Range 4'i West, Salt Lake Base and Meridian; thence North along the Range line to the Northeast corner of Section 1, Township 36 South, Range 5 West; thence West along the Township line to the Northwest corner of Section 1, Township 36 South, Range 6 West; thence South along the Section line to the Southeast corner of Section 14, Township 36 South, Range 6 West; thence West along the Section line to the West boundary line of the County; thence South along the County boundary line to the Southwest corner of the County; thence East along the County line to the point of beginning. TROPIC NO. 4: Beginning at the Southwest corner of Section 33, Township 37 South, Range 3 West, said point lying on the South boundary of Garfield County between Range 3 West and Range 2 West, Salt Lake Base and Meridian, and running thence North to the Northwest corner of Section 16, Township 37 South, Range 3 West, thence East along the Section line to the Southeast corner of Section 12, Township 37 South, Range 2 West; thence North along the Section line to the Northeast corner of Section 1, Township 35 South, Range 2 West; thence West along the Township line to the Northwest corner of Section 6, Township 35 South, Ranee 3 West: thence South to the Southeast corner of Section 36, Township 35 South, Range 4 West; thence West to the Northwest corner of Section 5, Township 36 South, Range 4 West; thence South along the Section line to the South boundary line of the County; thence South and East along the South boundary line of the County to the point of beginning. ANTIMONY NO. 5: Beginning at the Northwest corner of Section 5, Township 31 South Range 2K2 West, said point being on the North Boundary line of Garfield County; thence South along the Section line to the Northeast corner of Section 29, Township 34 South, Range 3 West; thence West along the Section lines to the Northwest corner of Section 30, Township 34 South, Range 3 West; thence South along the Section line to the Southwest corner of Section 31, Township 34 South, Range 3 West; thence East along the Township line to the Southeast corner of Section 36, Township 34 South, Range 1 West; thence North along the Range line to the North boun dary line of the County; thence Westerly along the North boundary line of the County to the point of beginning. CANNONVILLE NO. 6: All of the following Sections In Township 37 South, Range 3 West, Salt Lake Base and Meridian; 13, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22. 23, 24, 25.26,27,28, 33,34, 35,36; and all of the following Sections In Township 37 . South. Range 2 West 18, 19. 30, 31. HENRIEVILLE NO. 7i All of the following Sections In Township 37 South, Range 2 West, Salt Lake Base and Meridian; 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23,24,25,26,27,28,29,32, 33, 34, 35, 36. ESCALANTE NO. 8s Beginning at a point on the North boundary line of Garfield County on the Range line between Range 1 West and Range 1 East, Salt Lake Base and Meridian, and run ning thence South along the Range line to the Southeast corner of Section 36, Township 34 South. Range I West; thence West along the Township line to the Southwest corner of Section 31, Township 34 South, Range 1 West; thence South along the Section line to the South boundary line of the County; thence Easterly along the South boundary line of the County to the Southeast corner of Section 36, Township 37 South, Range 4 East; thence North along the Range line to the Northeast corner of Section 1, Township 35 South, Range 4 East; thence West along the Township line to the Southwest corner of Section 31, Township 34 South, Range 4 East; thence North along the Range line to the North boundary line of the. County; thence Westerly along the North boundary line of the County to the point of beginning. BOULDER NO. 9: Beginning at the Southeast corner of Section 36, Township 37 South, Range 4 East, Salt Lake Base and Meridian; thence North along the Range line to the Northeast corner of Section 1, Township 35 South, Range 4 East; thence West along the Township line to the Southwest corner of Section 31, Township 34 South, Range 4 East; thence North along the Range line to the North boun dary line of the County; thence Easterly along the North boundary line of the County to the Northeast corner of Section 1, Township 31 South, Range 7 East; thence South along the Range line to the Southerly boundary line of the County; thence Westerly along the South boundary line of the County to the point of beginning. EAST COUNTY NO. 10: Beginning at the Northeast corner of Section 1, Township 31 South, Range 7 East, Salt Lake Base and Meridian; thence South along the Range line to the South boundary line of the County; thence Easterly along the South boundary line of the County to the Southeast corner of ti.s County; thence Nor theasterly along the main channel of the Colorado River to the Northeast corner of the County; thence Westerly along the North boundary line of the County to the point of beginning. Section 3. Copies of this resolution shall be nished by the County Clerk to the Chairman of each election district of any political party registered in the County. Section 4. This resolution shall take effect January 1, 1979. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Garfield County held September 11, 1978.
