Show ikast resolutions ADOPTED BY THE UTAH PRESS pra SS association AT THE SUMMER all MEETING ETING AT UTAH JULY 7 1921 whereas the panguitch outing of the utah state press association has proved to be the most pleasant enjoyable and profitable summer meeting of this association due to the unbounded hospitality of the people of this community and county for the warm warin reception tendered them at their arrival in the city for taking the members of the press and their friends into their homes for entertainment for the sumptuous barbecue prepared for the wonderful day spent at braces can yon and the general good will ivill and warm hearted friend liness shown on the part of every citizen and whereas the members of the utah state press association will depart from this warmhearted warm hearted community for their homes with a deeper appreciation of the natural beauties of this state and in an everlasting glow in their souls caught from that inspiring blush in the mountainside bryce canyon anc anc whereas we have it within our power to take home to our readers at least a part of the wonderful impressions pres received here and to direct others to come and enjoy what we have seen and whereas we realize that this chosen county is entitled to the best facilities for tran both auto and rail and that due to the sparsely settled condition of the country and that no great taxing units in the form of railroads mines or manufacturing centers to aid them in financing their road problems and that we have it within our power to influence in their behalf now therefore be it resolved that we extend our sincere and heartfelt thanks to the people of garfield county to their county commissioners to the citizens of panguitch her mayor and city council to the local and stake officials of the latter day saints church and all the people in general and to W J peters editor of the garfield garfiel I 1 county news for their untiring efforts in making this outing of the utah state press association the unbounded success it has attained and be it further resolved that we wield an influence in their behalf in the promoting of their roads and the development of their scenic attractions resolved that we thank the city of richfield the richfield field commercial club land and dr markus of the richfield reaper for the fine entertainment and dancing party accorded the members of the utah press association and their partners to the panguitch pang ditch convention ven tion and resolved that we commend the action of the utah state highway association for entering into an agreement with the auto club of southern california whereby the zion park highway arrow head trail is to be marked from los angeles to salt lake and be it resolved that the utah press association congratulates the utah agricultural college upon the great success of the national summer school which has brought to the state the most eminent summer school faculty ever assembled in western america and proffer the aid and support of the press of the state in carrying forward the plans for future sessions of the national summer school JOHN R WALLIS I 1 E DIEHL A S PETER PETERSEN resolutions committee unanimously adopted |
