Show Page 13 THE GARFIELD COUNTY INSIDER ANTIMONY NEWS ...by Betty Wiley Jake Shepherd had a bad time with his leg which has given him trouble off and on for years as he was growing up. He will need to see a specialist to see what they can do. Wade Wiley is still in the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in PRovo. He is making some progress, but it is slow. It will take time, but he will make it. The Kylie Willis's blessed their new baby girl in Sacrament meeting Sunday. Grandpa Roach attended the blessing. A very large crowd of visitors attended all our meetings, as there were 50 people here for a reunion at the Rockin "R" Guest Ranch. This was the Durham family, and they came from Oregon, California, Utah, Texas, Colorado, Virginia and Kansas. They told me that the original family came from Parowan, Utah years ago. Our two speakers in Sacrament meeting came from Panguitch Wards. The State had an inspection station set up close to the highway after you got through Kingston. They seemed to be busy as there was a crowd over the weekend. They were checking fish. The 4th of July fireworks will be held July 4th this year. This will be held in the same place as last year, on the dam. Bill Wiley will come down to supervise the fireworks. He is spending all his time at the Provo Hospital with Wade, Jane and Jennifer Wiley. The Grant Proctors are here at their house visiting. They live in Cedar City but are interested in forming a subdivision where they have the three wells up on the flat here in Antimony. We would like to thank everyone who is helping Bill in so many ways. You are really appreciated at this time. Hanna Porter has returned to her job after being here to visit with her brother, before he left for the MTC on his mission to Ecuador. Tichel Porter was baptized on Sunday, June 18th, on her birthday. Visiting for this special day were Janice Winward, Grandpa Rardel Winward, Aunt Melissa Winward, Lydia Howard, a cousin and Uncle Wesley Campbell. Please join us in voting for DANNY PERKINS for Garfield County Sheriff Paidfor by the committee to elect Danny Perkins JUNE 22,2006 A GREAT SHERIFF WOULD BE... A great sheriff would be available, willing, dedicated, and would put in the hours necessary to get the job done. He would be honest, hard working, involved with the schools and communities, and would truly care about the citizens of Garfield County. Children would be a top priority, while keeping them safe, educated, and out of trouble would be never ending. These qualities describe those of Danny Perkins who we desperately need to be our next Garfield County Sheriff. Danny has been a friend and partner of mine for as long as I can remember. As a friend he is true, and would do anything in the world for me as he would for anyone. As a.partner, he has always done more than his share of the work, and has been more than fair with the expenses. When things need to be done, there is no tomorrow. Danny will work day and night to get the job done and take great pride in doing it right. He will do what he says when he says he will do it. Isn't this the kind of man to have in charge of law enforcement? Danny has been a tremendous asset to Garfield County for over twenty years. He has taken on responsibilities of sheriff on numerous occasions. Over the years, as with any officer, I'm sure Danny has offended some of us, but I can't imagine that it was because of not doing his job. For those offended, as well as the rest of us, I would ask you to answer honestly the following question. If in a desperate situation, in need of a police officer to handle the situation quickly and tactfully, with immediate follow-up, who would you call on? My choice would be unquestionably, Officer Danny Perkins. In sports, as well as many other things, those who work the longest and the hardest are the most deserving in the end. Let's not deprive Danny of this reward. Danny Perkins has earned the right to be Garfield County Sheriff. Danny Perkins deserves to be Garfield County Sheriff. Garfield County deserves a sheriff who cares. Please get out and vote, and please join me in voting for a man with values. Vote Danny Perkins Garfield County Sheriff. Sincerely, John Orton |
