Dearden, Fillmore, has been selected to be a State Finalist in the 1980 Miss United Teenager Pageant to be held at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, at 7:30 p.m. on June The Pageant 28, 1980. is the official Statewide finals for the National Pageant. Contestants from all over Utah will be competing. Contestants are between ages 14 and 18 and must have a B average in school. They are requested to participate in the Community Volunteer Service program of the Miss United Teenager Pageant by contributing at least 8 hours time to some charity or civic work of their choice. Karey has had many accomplishments during his years at Millard High, take for example, the Music Department. Karey has been a part of the stage band and Senior band for the past four years, of which he also made the Band, having had several superior ratings. He also is the president of his chorus class in w hich he has been enrolled for the past two years. He has also been in three plays, two of which he has had lead roles. However, Karey is not limited to Band, he also is a wrestler. This past year he has managed to take fourth in the State Wrestling Championships. Last but not least of one young man's accomplishments, Karey also is of his Senior class and of this year's Seminary Council.
