Huntington Film festival u Oct. 10-11 The Star Theatre presents the second annual film festival in Huntington to celebrate local amateur filmmakers. Organizers hope to grow the festival a little each year, and this year they have opened entries not only in the filmmaking category, but also for those who may have captured a funny event on film by expanding to Castle Valley’s Funniest Home Videos as well. There will be prizes for both the filmmaking and funniest video categories. Special guest speakers include actress Leigh Taylor-Young and motivational speaker John Morgan. Cost is $2 per person. Emery High u Oct. 29-30 Emery High School Drama department presents “Boo,” their Halloween play with a twist. The audience will move from room to room to experience the different acts. “It promises to be a scream!” u Nov. 20-22 “Man of La Mancha”, will be Emery High’s fall musical production. The musical is inspired by Miguel de Cervantes’s seventeenth century masterpiece Don Quixote. We will be featuring the work of Jennifer Marie Suflita, a bright and talented young artist from Salt Lake. The exhibit is entitled, “In the Moment” and will include a number of etchings and drypoints. Masters of the Dutch Oven San Rafael Junior High students compete in cook-off Kathy Ockey San Rafael Junior High held their annual Dutch Oven Cook Off on Oct. 2 under the watchful eyes of FCCLA Instructor Jodi Wilson. The students put a lot of work into their creations and winners were announced in several different categories.
