He was bom Oct. 9, 1981, in Bountiful, the son of Cotton and Beatrice Fullmer Wood. He small chopped green pepper (opt.) V2 cup shredded carrot 2 July George married Sherlene Lamb. They were later divorced. He then married Barbara Ann Sorensen in Ely, Nev. She survives. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daSaints. He was a veteran of World War H and served aboard the USS Saratoga for four years. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). He enjoyed football, boxing and wrestling. Other survivors include his children, George Fullmer Jr., Mrs. Ken Cox, Julie (Shelly) Caldwell, Phillip Gene, Diana Barbett and Royal Lewis, all of Castle Dale; tablespoons sugar 1 teaspoon salt Place vegetables In sealed jar or container. LAVERN'S PEAR SALAD Excellent way to use home preserved pears 1 1 DEVELOP & PRINT 1 1 56 Exposure quart pears package lime or red Jello gelatin package softened cream cheese carton Cool Whip pint whipping cream or 1 Drain pear juice from one quart pears. Reserve juice. Bring Va cups pear juice to a boil. Add gelatin and dissolve. Cool slightly. Add mashed pears and softened cream cheese to gelatin mixture. Mix well. Let partially set. Then, drain water completely. Add 3 cups water to rice. Cover and let stand 30 minutes. Turn heat on and bring to full boll. Turn to lowest flame and cook 15 minutes. Turn off heaf and let stand 10 minutes. Turn Gohan over by using shamoji and let stand for 5 mlnufes. Don't forget the cover. It is now ready to be served. Transfer the entire content to Meshibitsu. BASIC STIR j j I j j j I I (with vegetables) I - I I FRIED BEEF I boneless beef (flank steak, boneless chuck roast, or top round; flank steak is most tender) 1 lb. Marinade: 1 l tablespoon cornstarch tablespoon soy sauce Vi teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons sherry or rice wine 1 clove 1 teaspoon grated ginger garlic (optional) 2 water (optional) tablespoons 4 cups cut vegetables - alone or in combination: cauliflower, broccoli, asparagus, zucchini, Chinese cabbage, snow peas, string beans, mushrooms Gravy: 1 l tablespoon soy sauce tablespoon cornstarch Vi cup water or broth j j J I I jclub notesNorma I I 2 inches wide. Holding the blade at 45 angle, slice each strip across the grain in Va inch thick pieces. Season with marinade and set aside and let stand for 15 minutes or longer. Marinade will tenderize your meat. Cut the vegetables In approximately the same size so they will all finish cooking at the same time. Heat a wok or frying pan. Pour in 2 over tablespoons oil, swirl it about in the pan and heat. Add beef; stir-frhigh heat until browned outside, pink inside about 2 minutes. Cook in two batches if pan does not stay hot enough. Remove from pan. Heat 2 about 2 tablespoons of oil in the same pan. Add vegetables and stir-frminutes. Sprinkle with salt. If the vegetables you are using are very firm, add 2 tablespoons water and cover if necessary. Cook vegetables only until Return meat to the pan. Stir gravy to recombine, pour into pan, and cook until thickened, about 30 seconds. Serves 5 6 as a main course with rice. She was bom Nov. 25, 1908, in Scofield, Carbon County, the daughter of Bernard Peter and Ethyl-De- s Church Ludwig. She married Elisius (Elisa) Hansen Degn July 4, 1943, in Provo, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on Nov. 17, 1951. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints where she had held many positions in the ward and stake. She had served in the Relief Society, Young Womens MIA, Junior Sunday School and Senior Sunday School as a teacher. Mrs. Degn was the past president of the Professional and Business Womens Club of Price, She was an active member of the Price Literary League and was also active in the womens penuchle club. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Wasatch store in Castle Dale, for several years. She was later employed at Woodys Jewelry in Helper, and at Office Supply in Price. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. John (Carol) Torrey HI, St. Petersburg, Fla. ; a son, Raymond H. Degn, Spanish Fork, Utah; stepdaughter, Mrs. Clifford (Phillis) Avey, Coulee Dam, Wash.; brothers, Bernard H. Ludwig, Bountiful, Utah; Howard Joseph Ludwig, Hunter, Utah; two grand- daughters, 10 step grandchildren and 11 step great-- j grandchildren. Funeral services were to be held at 2 p.m. Wed-- I nesday, July 8, in the Price 4th and 5th Ward Chapel. He was buried at the Orangeville Cemetery. Va-- j j j j GREEN RIVER Dean Hawkinson and. Judy Ann Scott, representatives of Beta Zeta Chapter of ESA, recently attended the state convention in Ogden. During the awards luncheon, Mrs. Hawkinson and Mrs. Scott received awards on behalf of their chapter, The chapter received first place awards in history, rushing, state welfare money and youth award. The chapter was second in disaster fund, scrapbook under $30 and outstanding state chapter. The chapter was third in yearbook and received a Gold Pin for its youth education efforts. |
