The regular monthly meeting of the Emery County Council of Defense will be held next Monday at the Progress office at 2 o'clock and it is desired that a full council be present as there are several important matters and appointments ap-pointments to be taken up and acted upon. Another pair of twins arrived in the Dale Tuesday night, Mr. Stork having deposited his double load at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jeffs this time. Unfortunately, one of them (the girl) died soon after birth, while the other (a boy) Is now expected to survive though little hope was held at first. The first meeting of a series to be held in the interest of War-time Education, Edu-cation, will be held at Orangevllle tomorrow to-morrow (Sunday) evening at 8.30 o'clock. o'-clock. Prof. A. 13. Mrs. Edward Bischel of Salt Lake City, president of the State Federation of Women's clubs will be present and will address the. public meeting, to which are all cordially cor-dially invited. A meeting of the members of the county farm bureau and representatives representa-tives of the 31 threshing machine outfits out-fits in the county, is to be held this forenoon in the courthouse. The meeting meet-ing Is called for the purpose of getting together on a satisfactory cash rate for this season's threshing, the state !ood administration having ordered all threshing to be done on a cash basis. The rate for wheat upstate, as decided de-cided upon at like meetings, varies from 11 to 14 cents a bushel, with the machine ma-chine men boarding themselves.
