Washed and Polished Jonothan AIPIPL i Among the five thousand Sunday school enthusiasts attending the 12th annual National Sunday School Convention jn Las Angeles, were Reverend and October Mrs. Norman C. Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Tratos of 9-1- 1, Dra-gerto- n. Reverend Nelson is pastor of Dragerton Community Church and Mrs. Tratos is Sunday school superintendent. Previous to the National Sunday- School Convention the Nelson's and the Tratos' were ih attendance at the District and Prayer Conference of the South Pacific District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance held in Manhattan Beach, California, OcMinisters and delegates tober from Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah were in attendance at this conference. The three day sessions, held in the combined facilities of the Bible institute of Los Angeles and the Church of the Open Door, majored in the practical. Featured speakers for the event included Dr. Edward Simpson, president of the National Sunday School Association; Dr. date Sisley, of Chicago, executive secretary of the National Sunday School Association; Rev. Bert Webb of Springfield, Mo.; fir. Bob Cook of Wheaton, 111.; Dr. Henrietta C. Mears of Hollywood; and Rev. Pihllip Gaglardi, minister from KamloopS, British Columbia, who doubles as Commissioner of highways for his province, and Rev. W. A. Criswell, pastor of the worlds largest church and Sunday school. Sfc Sunday services were well attended at the First Baptist church of Dragerton as Rev. Milton Simmons delivered his first message Since coming oh the field at Dragerton. The Simmons family are now at home to visitors at 127 Denver, Ave. The Intermediate and Young People of the First Baptist church will have a social Wednesday evening beginning at 5:00 p.m. They will meet at the church and will be sponsored by the Pastor and Mrs. Ida Hamilton. A weiner roast will climax the hour of fellowship.
