After being in college for just a short while, it doesnt take students long to realize that they need cheap, yet fun ways to entertain themselves. Students at Dixie State College have found some very interesting ways to entertain themselves and keep their mind off their classes. From sliding down a hill on a block of ice to surfing on a couch, DSC students have found their own unique ways to entertain themselves and ensure a college experience. The caves are probably form the most of cheap entertainment in southern Utah. Students have discovered that is not just a game for kids. The caves are basically any caverns that are dark and full of rocks. Students go into caverns and throw the fluid from the inside of a glow stick on the walls and on themselves. The glow sticks put little spots on the walls and the players. and give the hiders the opportunity to look like rocks and blend in with the caves surrounding while the seeker stum- fun-fille- Memory Foam Mattress Sets $199 & Up. "Faux is fun, and you don't have to sink a lot of money into it." Faux causes less ethical pause than real fur for some wearers, and the quality has improved, said Judy Gordon, founder of TheTrendReport.com. Real or fake, retro stoles and capes inevitably will tumble from trend lists, Gordon said, which is another reason to invest less. But that doesn't mean you should evict faux pieces after this season. "My mother used to say fashion repeats itself every 20 years," Gordon said. "Now it's about every two seconds. The pieces I really love, I never get rid of them because - boom! - they're back. d bles around looking for people. This new spin on almost guarantees a good time. Who doesn't still enjoy a good old game of cops and robbers? However, this version is a bit more complicated than the version children play. The game of Fugitive is a game that tests players physically and psychologically. Players have a start point and an end point. Between the start and end they have to stealthily run through parking lots and parks without being caught by the cops," who are in the cars. A freshman from DSC said: It is really fun and it gets the adrenaline pumping. Youre knowing what it feels like to run from the law without actually having to run from the law. Another unique activity DSC students have discovered is ice blocking. The activity consists of a big block of ice and a grassy hill. The rider sits on the hide-and-see- k 1 ice and slides down the hill. The activity can be repeated until the ice block either melts or breaks. It is like sledding, but backwards," a DSC junior said. Instead of sliding down the ice, you are sliding down the hill on the , ice. It sounds but it is really a lot of fun. It is usually best to go in the summertime so the grass is hot. That way the, ice will melt a lot faster and as a result, riders will go faster. Probably the most interesting activity DSC students have discovered would be couch surfing. The rules are simple: a couch is tied to the hitch of a truck, which is driven in a remote area, and riders hold on for dear life. Riders get the fun, thrilling experience theyve been looking for, and the couch can be bought at Deseret Industries for a really cheap price. Whatever the situation, it seems that DSC students will always find a way to have fun. Just remember, use common sense. If an activity looks too dangerous or is against the law, it's probably not a good idea. simple-minded- Garner unelectric in Elektra a dentist's TRIBUNE MEDIA SERVICE Anything "Elektra" can do, "House of Flying Daggers" can do better. As a result, the movie feels like we re peeking in on a twist- ed superhero's draggy therapy sessions, which is just what everybody wants from an action movie, right? -- |
