HE WORKED at the Layton Sugar Company and the Ogden Arsenal, transferring to Hill AFB when the Arsenal closed. He retired from Civil Service employment in 1968. Mr. Craig has always been an active member of the LDS Church. In 1967 he was president of the Layton Ward Elders Quorum in charge of hauling the gravel for the building of the White Chapel. He has held many positions in the Church including assistant ward clerk, ward clerk, secretary and treasurer of the seventies and publisher of the ward paper. He served two stake missions. and-wa- Carl David Craig celebrated his 87th birthday on Friday, Sept. 13 at the home of his daughter and Verl and Beth Williams of ON MAY 9, 1917 he married Inas son-in-la- Smith in the Salt Lake LDS Layton. His daughter, Leota Craig died in 1932; another daughter, lone Craig Wheat, passed away in 1980. One daughter Mrs. Verl G. (Beth) Williams of Layton and one son, Jay D. Craig of Twin Falls, Ida. are still living. He has 1 1 grandchildren and 9 dmg friends and family members stopped in to visit Mr. Craig and wish him well. CARL D. Craig was born in Layton on Sept. 13, 1888, a son of John David and Laura Marie Harris Craig. He has lived his entire life in Layton. Dr. Treft will provide eye care services at the Medical Center, 450 S. 400 E., Bountiful. A BOUNTIFUL native. Dr. Treft attended the University of Utah. He is an honors program magna cum lauda graduate, with a B.A. degree in psychology. Following graduation. Treft was accepted by the University of Utah mpdical school, from which he graduated in the top percent of his class. Upon completing a rotating internship in medicine and surgery, Dr. Treft was accepted into the ophthalmology residency training program at the University of Utah. While there, Treft setved as chief resident of the ophthalmology service for the Salt Lake Veterans Hospital, as well as the University of Utah. DR. TREFT has received extensive training in the treatment of eye disease, examination for glasses, fitting of contact lenses and the correction of eye and eyelid problems with medical and surgical techniques, including the latest microsurgical techniques. TO BETTER accommodate the schedules of working families, Dr. Treft is taking appointments every Wednesday evening until 8 p.m. He will also take appointments on selected Saturdays from 8 a.m. until noon.
