Show V Clearfield Honor Society Meet The National Honor Society Clearfield Chapter held its an- nual banquet at the Valley View Country Club, in East Layton on Thursday, Nov. 18 with approximately 350 people attending including honor students, parents and guests. THE BANQUET consisted of roast beef, potatoes and gravy, hot rolls, com, salad, drink and sherbet. The welcome was given by Val Parrish, president with invocation and blessing on the food by Dave Clark. Student speakers were Val Parrish, who spoke on leadership; Amy Suzuki, who spoke on service; Melissa DeWitt, on speaking scholarship and Linda Young who gave her talk - on character. THE CLEARFIELD High School Madres presented two musical numbers. Guest speaker was Kenneth Johnson, administrator of the McKay-De- e Hospital in Ogden, who spoke on setting goals and achievement. The roll call and presentation of awards and certificates was given by Barry H. Avery of the Clearfield High School faculty. JUNIOR members for this year were Janet Abrams, Debra Allison, Kathleen Allred, Mark Anderson, Roger Bailey, Robyn Barneck, Barbara Barnes, Larry Barrows, Kristina Barton, Barbara Blair, Marilyn Brady, Joyce Brown and Robert Higgs checks out a blue healer or dingo which is useful as a cattle dog. Etaational Da&MI Begins Davis Darrels Chevron and Farmers Insurance had one of their usual tight games Monday evening at Bountiful High. FARMERS lead varied from one to eight points for the first three quarters of play when Darrels took the lead at 62 to 60 then went into a soft freeze and scored the last 10 points on foul shots and layups. , Both teams had balanced scoring with Joe Johnson high for the game with 19, followed by teammates John Allen with 16 and Dennis Green with 14. FARMERS was paced by Rich Fadel with 16, Dave Downs, 13, Alan Cleverly scored 12. Final score Darrel's 72 Farmers 63. In other action Hosking Helicopters won their first game by downing Centerville Hoskings Helicopters were paced by Greenleaf with 26 points and Doug Ohlson added 18. 72-6- CENTERVILLE stayed close throughout the game but couldnt overcome the early lead Hoskings had built up. Centerville was paced by Bountiful High Coach Drurv and Viewmont Coach Ron ; Johansen who scored 27 and 19 respectively. AT HILL Field, Bountiful paced again by Jimmy Watts .ran away from E&M Ford 94-6- scored Watts 34 counters with Gardner adding 20. NEXT week at Bountiful High at 7, E&M Ford takes on Farmers Ins. The 8:15 game pits Darrels Chevrqn against Centerville. At 9:15 in the Hill Air Force Base Gym, Hill Field will try to stop Bountiful.
