Artists, sculptors and others worldwide have repeatedly attempted to depict this extraordinary time in' Bethlehem by creating nativity scenes. Layton resident Jody England Hansen is an expert on these pieces of artwork. "I have collected over 180 hol-kla- of a good tiling If Christmas-pa- st was chaotic at your house, follow a few of these tips to add a little peace and tranquility to your holiday celebrations. Sharpen your focus. What do you w ant to focus on this Christmas? Tune with family? Charitable giving? Religious beliefs? bite-size- Large social celebrations? BARKER transformed into the "Jerusalem Travel Agency:" Here they acquire a passport and a Jewish name. Then they are ushered into a room decorated to look like a home at the time of Jesus. Roman soldiers come and tell them to get on the road to pay their taxes. Every eight minutes a Jewish family will guide a group of 0 people on their journey On the way outside. they pass a carpenter shop. The group will travel outside for 45 minutes on the way to Bethlehem. They will meet live camels, angels, Roman soldiers in armor, beggars and be robbed along the way When they reach the walled city of Bethlehem, they will visit shops, find no place at the inn and be directed to a live manger scene. At the end of the journey the group may sip hot chocolate in the tent. This is our gift to the community!' Pastor Markham said. We want people to experience what Christmas is about!' Clipper Today Correspondent LAYTON Mountain View Baptist Church of Layton presents a free interactive drama, Journey to Bethlehem.' on Dec 9, 10. 11, and 12 from 9 p.m.The church is located just west of Highway 89 on the south side of Highway 193.The public is invited. Pastor Keith Markham suggested participants dress warmly and expect to spend at least an hour. Most of the program is outside. We expect 5.000 peoSome ple this year!' They provide their own costumes and arrange for the live animals. This is the third year the church has presented the program. It was once part of a church in London from 1850. Her oldest piece of art is a figurine of Mary from York, England which dates back to the 17th century: Other pieces come from Africa. India, Germany. Bangladesh and South America. All these nativity scenes are set up in Mike and Jody England Hansen's historical house at 763 Church St. The public is invited to view the nativity scenes during an open house on Dec. 10 and Dec. 13 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Hansen said it will be her family's last Christmas in their restored Victorian ONE of Jody Hansen's favorite nativity scenes They spent the last 13 years restoring the house. Santa will be at the Burger Stop, and there will be lots of hot chocolate after the raid ride. This is the fifth year the group has sponsored hay rides. The first year we used horses!
