S Lewis Foss Sessions Lewis a long longtime longtime longtime time resident of Bountiful passed away Wednesday April 21 at the age of 67 in a Salt Lake hospital after a long illness HE WAS born in Bountiful ful in 1903 to William and Elizabeth Sessions Lewis who took their infant son to Grays GraysLake GraysLake GraysLake Lake Ida where he spent his growing up years on his fathers father's cattle ranch There he learned to love the ou- ou and along with learning learning learning learn learn- ing the usual procedures of ranch life Foss gained an unequalled knowledge and skill of handling horses which was his never-ending never love He exhibited this love in his younger years by participating in rodeos and horse shows throughout Utah and Idaho In later years this his love brought about the establishment of his fine racing and breeding stock AT THE TIlE age of sixteen he returned to Bountiful and completed completed completed com com- his education He married Irene Denning in 1925 Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple THROUGH HARD work and sacrifice Foss and Irene purchased a fruit farm on the east bench of Bountiful which had a small sand and gravel quarry on it With a team of horses a wagon a desire to succeed and a love to serve others he built two successful successful successful success success- ful companies Foss Lewis Sand and Gravel Co and with the help of his children Foss Lewis and Sons Construction Co He was also a former partner of Davis County Ready Mix and Lewis Construction Construction Construction Con Con- Co He was a strong supporter of little league baseball and other activities for the development development development de de- de- de of youth in the com coin UNTIL HIS illness he was was was- an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints He served as the High Priest group secretary secretary secretary secre secre- tary of the Val Verda First Ward was a home teacher and active in temple work r Dr V f fF F I fl r Y m FOSS S.
