Show DENTAL BALLOT PETITIONS LEGAL "Attorney General Chez rules in favor of the gTOup of dentists headed by Dr. Withers, who ask the right to advertise. The voters of Utah will decide the matter Nov. 3rd. In accordance with an opinion handed down by Attorney General Chez the legislation proposed by a group of dentists headed by Dr. W. L. Withers will be placed on the regular ballott next November for the voters of Utah to decide whether wheth-er dentists shall have the right to advertise. This question will now be settled once and for all time at the general election, as announced by Secretary of State Welling. In th opinion of the dentists advocating ad-vocating the repeal of the statute enacted at the last legislature, a sigal -victory has already been won by the attorney general's findings. The dentists who demand the right to advertise believe that their wishes will be overwhelmingly sustained su-stained by the voters of this state. These progressive dentists argue that loer dental prices will natur-ually natur-ually follow the right to advertise. Mr. Welling has certified that the petitions circulated over the state contains the legal number of names of voters to warrant its presentation presenta-tion to the people under the initiative initia-tive and referendum law which requires re-quires 10c,c of the names of legal voters. These names also had to be certified to before a notary public. It has been a hard fight. One group of dentists oppose advertising advertis-ing on the ground that it is unethical. unethi-cal. The other side claim that dental den-tal prices are too high. But the final decision is up to the people. |
