Show Nicholls to observe 91st 1 'iTj rMcy -Ci Edna Nicholls, Farmington, will celebrate her 91st birthday Friday. July 25. She was born in 1895 to Amasa and Helen Smith France in Farmington. Farm-ington. Four years later the family moved to Cardston, Alberta, Canada, Cana-da, where they lived until Edna was 18. The family returned to Salt Lake City and several years later, Edna married Lawrence Elliott. The family then moved to Farming-ton Farming-ton where son Clifford was born. Clif and family now reside in Fruit Heights. Edna has seven grandchildren grand-children and eight greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Lawrence Elliott died after Clif was born and several years later, Edna married Fred Nicholls, now deceased. In 1943 Edna was appointed postmaster in Farmington and retired re-tired in 1965, after 23 years and seven months in the government service. After retirement, Edna enjoyed many years at the Golden Years Center in Bountiful. She took classes clas-ses in china painting and ceramics there. She became acquainted with many of the senior citizens. , She is a great gardener, taking much pleasure from working in her flowers at her home. She continued EDNA NICHOLLS to work with the flowers all summer sum-mer until the past year or so when she has not been able to do these things. She now enjoys reading, books and magazines, and loves to sit on her back porch where she can read and enjoy the beautiful flowers in her garden. She also enjoys visits from many of her friends, kj |
