Those of us who just went to a reunion or those who are just about to.) ten-ye- LOOKING FOR BETTER SMILES: Keri Messenger, secretary of the BHS Operation Smile dub, recently went to the Philippines with doctors, nurses, dentists, speech therapists and other medical personnel from the Bountiful area She is shown with some patients that are about to receive the surgery needed to fix their deformities Concert to benefit Operation Smile The Bountiful High Choral Department under the direction of Merrilee Webb and the Sunshine Generation under the direction of Jean Turner and Jennifer Record will present a benefit concert on behalf of Operation Smile International on Monday. April 21 at 7 p.m. in the Bountiful High auditorium. Operation Smile is a volunteer medical services organization that sends medical teams to developing countries and economically depressed areas of the United States to perform free corrective surgery for children with serious deformities and disfigurements. Members of the Bountiful High School Operation Smile youth club devoted much ti me and energy in helping to raise funds to support these medical missions. Currently the goal of the Bountiful High dub is to raise one million pennies during "Operation Smile Week" April 14 to 21 at the high school. t, Keri Messengei, secretary of the BHS club, recently went to the Philippines with doctors, nurses, dentists, speech therapists and other medical personnel trom the Bountiful area. More than 2(H) childien were operated on during the trip as well as $1,500 worth ol' leubook were donated to the children tor their educational needs These textbooks were purchased with funds raised by the BUS club. While on these medical missions, it is the responsibility of the youth members of the team to give presentations to the children in the area on dental hygiene, nutrition, breast feeding. oral rehydration therapy, and burn prevention and care. Cami of the BHS Nielsen, club will be part of a medical team leaving for Russia in June and Linda Kay messenger, youth sponsor, will be going to China the last of May.
