Show A2 Tuesday, September 21 DAVIS COUNTY CLIPPER o , 1 993 Police looking for arsonist ,ri 7 Locker fire in Job Corps dormitory set deliberately fA By MARK EDDINGTON Staff Writer CLEARFIELD A Sunday fire that destroyed a clothes locker and did an estimated $2,500 worth of damage to a dormitory at the Clearfield Job Corps Center was set deliberately, investigators report. The fire broke out about 4:30 p.m. in a center dormitory that was largely empty of students. Several the dormitory floor and caused more damage than the fire. There was about an of water covering the floor, Bodily said. Investigators have determined the fire was the work of an arsonist. Some clothes inside the plywood locker were apparently set on fire. Police questioned students Monday and more interviews are scheduled today. Clearfield Fire Chief Roger Bodily said the smoke activated the sprinkler system, which held the fire in check until inch-and-a-h- firefighters could arrive. It took firefighters about five minutes and five gallons of water to knock down the fire, which was contained to the locker. By PAUL News to review the construction project CHALLIS Editor The City BOUNTIFUL Council will go on a field trip on Wednesday beginning at 6:30 p.m. from City Hall and will visit three sites of projects currently being considered by Bountiful's governing body. The council will visit Washington Elementary located at 340 West 640 South to review a proposed land sale to the Davis County School District. The second site on the tour will be at Tolman Elementary located 300 East 1200 North. The council will inspect park property nearby the school for more possible negotiations with the school district. The third stop on the field trip will be along 400 East recently completed by city crews. The 400 East road construction project has been an throughout most of the summer and delayed traffic on the east bench for several weeks. Following the field trip, the council will continue its meeting at 7 p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, "790 South 100 East in Bountiful. BOUNTIFUL The Bountiful City Planning Commission will meet on Tuesday, at 7 p.m. in the Planning Conference Room at 790 South 100 East with four items on the agenda including a request for zoning ordinance amendment. The planners will consider the request from Magna Investment & Development, LTD., the developers to change 33 acres of land from C-at 1600 North and 200 to West in Bountiful. The planners will review the request and then send it on to the City Council for a public hearing on the projected change in the land zoning ordinance.
